I wouldnt say "they bite" more like........they shred. I own a massive breeding pair and my have got torn apart a few weeks ago and there are some pretty big scars there.

Tokays can draw blood, they have some real nasty lockjaw when they bite. I was bitten between my index finger and thumb by a so called "tame" tokay.. Very painful.. It was probably the location of the bite, but i felt alot more pain from it than any of my monitor bites. And yes, it drew quite alot of blood. Don't get bit. it isn't fun.

Heh heh heh, the infamous tokay :)
My male latched onto me (wearing a gardening glove) when i first brought him home. HE held on while I patiently waited for roughly a half hour. I took the gardening glove off (tokay attached) and placed it into his terrarium. I left the room and came back about another half hour later and he was just walking away form the glove. Since this i've been scarred enough by him to make Steve Irwin's stories seem like childrens books. All in all I think they're the most beautiful lizard in the world and I wouldn't trade any of my tokay experiences in for the world. They're as beautiful as they are vicious. Tokay Gecko...We Salute You!!!
