Heating

I got more questions for everyone on my kingsnake. Is a lamp neccassary? The temp on the cool side is 80 and on the warm side it's about 85. Thats the air temp. On the aspen substrate its warmer because of the UTH. Is this suitable for the snake? I don't know if a lamp in necessary. It's just kind of a hassle to turn on and off at morning and night. Any suggestions. :medhandle

Cool side could be a little cooler, maybe go with a lower wattage bulb. Hassle turning on & off? Get a timer for that & it will be automatic. will cost you around $10 tops for a basic on/off unit. Mark
