constrictors?

hi, i have 2 corns snakes..young ones.

They have always eaten normally when i put down the pinkie in the cage, they just start eating it....but lately my oldest, casper, has been striking it before i can put it down and coiling around it..what can trigger this different behaviour from him?

Maybe it's just a part of his growth process, he's feeling like a big guy now and strong enough to put the squeeze on his prey.

It's hard to say why the constricting instinct kicks in after awhile but your story isn't the first one I've heard.

2 of my 3 corns do that. It all happened when I moved them from pinkies to fuzzies.
