heating???

Ive decided to make a custom inclosure. I have a few heating questions. Will the heat that the heat lamp produces go through glass if it is put directly on it and will the heat from the heat pad go through wood? By the way the cage is gonna be 4ft x 2ft x 2ft. If your asking why its in this forum its because the cage is gonna be used for a ball python. Any info will greatly be appreciated, thanks.

The heat from the heat lamp will go through the glass just make sure the snake cant get in touch will the glass because it will burn the snake real quick. I dont know about the wood though. how big is this ball python? 4x2x2 sounds pretty big.

First off that cage is a little big for a ball python. Something the size of 30 x 16 would be fine for an adult.

pythons just a baby planning on putting a divider in the middle to make two cages out of one and move the divider as to accomadate the snakes size.

Forget the heat lamp. Totally unnecessary. The heat pas will heat through the wood. Wood makes an excellent heat diffuser in my opinion.
