Question "House" Geckos

Hi. I was recently in a pet store and saw some "House" geckos. I'm wondering what people can tell me about these. I'm not looking to feed them to anything (thats the only thing about them that comes to mind, that they can be feeders), but rather keep them. Any info will help! Thanks!

Hi,
I have three house geckos one male and two females. They are very easy to care for. there pretty cool and "cute" as one might say. They are pretty messy they poo anywhere and they are really really fast. I keep them in a 10 gallon tank with a screen lid. I use eco earth for substrate and I have lots of foliage for them and driftwood make sure theres places for them to hide but not on the ground like in between leaves and stuff and make sure you have a basking spot to. I use a 60 watt bulb for heat. and they need humidity higher than 70%. mist there tank daily and make sure the substrate is moist but let it dry before wetting it again. I feed them about ten 1/2" crickets every other day. there pretty easy to breed too. Theres a pic of the enclosure on the front page of my site.
hope that heped

Do you offer them any fruit/honey mixture? Or baby food? What about a water dish?

no there completly carnivorous. I dont use a water dish since they lick the water droplets off of the leaves and themselves.

house geckos are great i have one. but there are like like a ton of diffrent species of them... three that i can actualy name... outcold gave you some pretty good information about them just remember to dust crickets every now and then... i keep a water dish in my tank just incase its not necesary because they do drink droplets of water but just to be safe you could have one

house geckos are probably my least favorite reptile, atleast least favorite lizards. they are pretty cute but we sell them at the pet store i work for and i can not stand when some one wants to buy one. really i can not stand opening the cage at all. theres one cage we always keep the houses, anoles, long tail lizards and tree frogs so they cage gets opend alot because we sell all these guys pretty fast (i also remind people to not keep these animals together because mixing species is bad and our stupid managers refuse to keep them seperate) the cage is opend about 4 times a day and usually one of those times a house gecko gets out. our store probably has 20 or so lose house geckos. luckily they hang out around the cages and iv had some luck catching them but they always get out. i wouldnt even keep them for looking at, they get out way too easily but its up to you.
