Being so secluded here in British Columbia...

I was wondering if you guys could keep posts up of different species of chameleons you see in your travels through the great vast more herp-orientated provinces you live in. We used to have one of THE GREATEST chameleon gurus in the world in BC here, Craig Goldie, I went to his house and saw the hundred+ chameleons he had from Brookesia perarmata to some very nice quadricornus, but he had some financial troubles and sold his ENTIRE collection about 3 years ago

Since then, all BC has is veileds and panthers, panthers of which are never being successfully bred by their keepers.

So, fellow chameleonidans, if you guys could post the cool species you see, that would be great, if there's interest in them I'm sure you'd be helping me or anyone else out who might be on the hunt.

In closing, I just want to know what kind of chameleons you guys see on a regular or even not-so-regular basis where you live. In BC here the craziest species I've ever seen here in BC pet stores was a 6 month old female Ambanja panther chameleon, other than that, all veileds.

Not many things show up here and when they do its not like a all the time thing, but over the last year this is what i have seen in stores/reptile expos , 1 werner, bunch of mellers, a few flapnecks, rudis, pigmys, the odd jaxson I know some fullibourni have come in too oh and parsons came in a globalexotics. there is not alot of variety here for sure, but i think thre is a reasion for it people just dont buy other chams only veilds and panthers soo that is prolly the reason, its pretty sad i think. anywho that is my 2 cents

WOW! If we had that variety here I would buy a pair or trio of every of those species. Except parsonii cause those are pretty damn expensive, but if I had all those species beforehand to make some money on the offspring to put back into the hobby I might just have had enough to get some parsonii.

Thats the problem they show up buy usually in impossible the get a breeding paire, or they are Wild cought and might have issues. its hard for sure.

the only other species i have seen is chameleo tricerious derimensis, which i bought a pair of.... YAY, and they are doing great, but let me tell you extremely hard to take care of, and they are imports, but were treated befor i bought them. but ya for sure the problem with the lack of variety is for sure because of requirements some of the species need, which makes them hard to keep let alone breed, I have seen my pair breed, but no eggs so far, i have read that these guys wont lay a fertile clutch untill the following year or longer after they breed, so who knows, i check everyday,

I've seen the same as Brandy, and they seem to come in spurts at certain times of the year. I order a pair of Rudis, and was delivered Fulleborni's.... an excellent mistake.
