white scales???

hello all...just looked in on one of my big boys that was due to shed .....well he shed but......there some spots that weren't there before he shed...there are blotches of white scale down his back about every 6 inches or so.i have just seen this i will get pics tonite.......it might just be urate .i have never had in my collection or seen in real life scale rot it is along his back only ....i am going to give him a day to have a better look .....he is miserable as sin right now...i put a giant tub of water to have bath....i might be jumping the gun but and it might be urate....we will see i will get pics.any suggestions are greatly appreciated......thanks much Danny

ps he is around 7-8 yrs old and just under (believe it or not) 10 feet long round as a 2l coke bottle
