Question quick question

my leos are about 4 months old now. they still do not realize that there are mealies in their bowl all the time. then when i come into the they act all hungry. but when i make a "trail" of mealies to their bowl they can see the mealies in the bowl and will then eat out of it. is there any way i will make them see the bowl as a 24hr food service? any information will be appreciated. thanks!!

I had the same problem with my leo! what i did was i only put the bowl in at feeding time, so a good idea would be to put the bowl of mealies in and do what your doing now (the Trail thing) and eventually you shouldn't have to do it anymore as they will ascociate the bowl with feeding time! Hope that helps

They have to be able to see the worms in the bowl from a couple inches away for them to use it. I tried many different bowls before figuring out the Kretchmer brand wheat germ jar lid worked the best. It's shallow and the mealies can't get out. Glass ash trays can work very well also. Bear in mind you will need to change the mealies daily to keep them gutloaded. I only have one gecko that eats out of a dish and she only goes for them when I first dump them in because that is when they are moving around the most.

Good luck!
