Your Garters

Unfortunately I DONT have my digital camera anymore...but I would love to see pictures of yours and their setups.

Although if you dont have pictures of the setups a description would be nice....and what you feed them....how often...the whole she-bang.

Thanks,

Don

All of my garter snakes live in 20 quart rubbermaid containers, with newspaper, paper towels or aspen bedding as a substrate, a water bowl, and something to hide under or in.

Most of them get mice whenever I feel like feeding them, usually 3-4 times a week.

Awesome!

Mine is in a 10 gallon tank, with Pine Bedding and a large water dish. He also has a large climbing branch in case he feels the need.

Any pictures of yours?

Not pets, just ones we found around the cottage.

my garters and ribbons live in ten gallons (rubbermaids are fine, i just like to see them), have climbing branches which they frequently use, aspen bedding, & big water bowls. they eat mostly fish (not gold, high mercury content), supplemented with whatever bugs i have lying around & that they are willing to eat.

^ I see mine in the rubbermaids....

I have some pics of mine, but my computer goes too slow to upload pics into this forum's gallery. And I already have them in the KS.com gallery, so it's really a waste of time. But I'll put them up onto my forum, and people could click the links and check out the pics.

Right now, garter wise I have...

1.1 Adult Melanistic(jet black) Eastern Garter Snakes
0.1 Adult NY locale Blue Eastern Garter Snake
1.0 Adult NY locale Hypo Eastern Garter Snake
Also have 1.1 Het Erythristic Eastern Garter Snakes on the way

This is a young male eastern garter with a very nice color that I found about a year ago. I keep him in a ten gallon aquarium and feed him tad poles, worms, live minnows. He is very tame now. http://www.repticzone.com/forums/Gar...es/329091.html

Awesome Garter DragonDreams! I also keep mine in a 10 gallong with a water bowl, aspen bedding, and a rock that is lifted up with aspen so he can crawl under for safety

That cage for your WD is awesome BTW!

Wink

Thanks, didn't see this for a bit. That cage was a learning experience for me, my next will be built differently. I hope to have new cages built for my snakes soon. I have a whole room filled with aquariums right now (ok more than one room) and I would like to get it more organized. It's amazing what a little field herping will add to your collection.

Sounds good to me. My room will probably be aquariums as well....but I have a free whole wall which I plan on building a shelf along so I can have cages underneath on the ground, and above. Then if I get more Ill bulid a second ontop of that. Next my dresser will have to go.....haha
