To Filter or Not to Filter - Dwarf Frogs

Hi all. I need some help. I'm about to get a pair of Dwarf Clawed Frogs and I'm starting to set up an aquarium. My aquarium came with an undergravel filter. Some websites I've read say this is okay and some say that it isn't becuase of the vibrations it puts out into the water. I'm not sure what to do. I'd like to set it up this weekend, tomorrow if possible, so I can let it cycle this week. So is the filter really necessary and if not, do I still have to cycle? If that seems like a stupid question, I'm sorry. I'm new to having an aquarium of my own. Any help would be great! Thanks!

i dont use filters for any of my xenopus, they have a nastly habit of getting stuck in the bubbler. its more work, but its safer.

I ahev kept Xenopus and dwarf frogs (hymenochirus) using a variety of filtratoin techniques successfully including waterfall filters, corner bubble filters, and undergravel filters. Though a current free water is ideal, it is unrealistic in the confines of a small tank to keep it clean enough without doing ridiculous amounts of water changes. . Just add lots of live plants and driftwood to the tank, and the current will be slow enough not to agitate the frogs. Filtration has worked for me for years. I have the frogs to prove it
