questions about breadies
My friend is interested in getting a breadie and had some questions so I thought that I would post them
-What type of substrate is best before changing to sand after a year?
-How much substrate/sand should be at the bottom of the tank?
-Do female breadies lay eggs on a regular cycle like chameleons?
-What morphs are best for captivity?
-Which are more stable/hardy?
-Is it best to get two or 1 breadie?
-If it is best to get two, then how do you know ensure that you not getting two males during juvey stage?
-Can you sex hatchlings…I have read you can’t until the age of one
-I understand I require a UVB light during the day… what is the best way to keep up temperature throughout night?
- Real plants vs. fake plants, which are best?
-If it is real then which plants are best?
-Being a first time reptile owner, what is the preferable age of the breadie when I purchase it?

I'm going to assume you mean 'beardie' not 'breadie', so I moved this to the bearded dragon forum where you'll have more luck.
The questions you asked can be answered easily by doing a search on this forum, or just reading a few older posts. They're basic questions that come up all the time, lots of info to be found if you just look a bit. The info is also easily found in care sheets and in books (please make sure you have a good reliable bearded dragon book, you can't live without one).

-What type of substrate is best before changing to sand after a year?
paper towel.. even after 1 year it might be best to use bran.. and dont use calci sand its not totally digestable and they lik the taste, use playsand
-How much substrate/sand should be at the bottom of the tank?
it depends.. if they dont like digging than 1" or so.. if they do like digging add a little more.
-Do female breadies lay eggs on a regular cycle like chameleons?
even chameleons shouldnt lay regular eggs.. if they are there being over fed...
-What morphs are best for captivity?
imo there is no real difference.. a normal is cheaper but a morph has great colours.. then again a german giant may need more room..
-Which are more stable/hardy?
same as above...
-Is it best to get two or 1 breadie?
1 because youll never know if theyll fight... later another may be added but you must have lots of room food and basking ops...
-If it is best to get two, then how do you know ensure that you not getting two males during juvey stage?
thats why its best to get one.. then you can be sure of the sex.. if you buy another buy an adult...
-Can you sex hatchlings…I have read you can’t until the age of one..
no you cant sex them until sexual maturity...
-I understand I require a UVB light during the day… what is the best way to keep up temperature throughout night?
no heating at all if possible.. if it is needed then a low wattage ceremic heat emitter on a dimmer switch so you can controll it, but a uv light wont let off alot of heat.. really none at all.. youll need a basking light as well...
- Real plants vs. fake plants, which are best?
no plants are really needed... thats for looks only...
-If it is real then which plants are best?
look up a safe plants list... plants are kinda hard to keep in that heat anyways... so id say dont bother.
-Being a first time reptile owner, what is the preferable age of the breadie when I purchase it?
a sub adult imo.. that way you know there temperment and they wont eat you out of house and home... they should also be used to there greens.. make sure of this...

well hopefully one of the breeders may be able to help.. but you may just have normals.. and if you sell them youd have to use the word TYPE as not to falsely advertise the dragons
