Woodworm

I have woodworm in a wild piece of oak root i found. If the piece is too big for me to put in the oven, how do i get rid of them? Apart from getting a new piece of wood, as I cant find another like this for free... There are pics in my gallery

theres probably lots living in that.

im betting th eworms you see are ebttle larvea. if its huge i would jsut soak in a big bocket of waer for a week or more which will drown everything. theres lots of holes and cracks etc so air will be plentifull for little buggies for a while.

if its for a desert type enclosure i owuld jsut wash and not worry about it, once that things dry everything will leave/die.

Well im having a bonfire in a week or two (its gonna be very big) once it is burnt down and really hot i think i'll put a piece of metal sheet over it and lay the wood on top for an hour or so. It should get to +- 400 degrees celsius, i will watch to check it doesnt burn. Im guessing this will just "fry" all living things in there?
