Number of Toes on E. Box Turtles

Hey guys,

I've been wondering lately about my Eastern Box Turtle. It was sold as an eastern, and by all means appears to be, but the hind feet have three toes, not four. I know this is possible, but how prevalent is it?

Starting to wonder if its actually a hybrid.

Thanks Reptile HQ, and all others.

If you need more pics let me know.

1.5 Years of Age

Hatchling

The turtle is now a little over two years of age.

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Blair,

What makes you say its T. carolina triunguis as opposed to T. c. carolina, or even the hybrid?

Thanks for the reply, even though this is an old post, it never really did get answered.
