I know N.S. has a herp society but i'm not sure how many herpers. I know of maybe 20 or so herpers here in NB and there are a few on pei. I think it is slowely growing here But in general it is a small herp community here in the atlantic provinces. jimmy

There are a few of use here in Nova Scotia. We are from Dartmouth which is on the other side of the harbour from Halifax. We have been collecting and breeding snakes for about 4 years now. Welcome to Nova Scotia.

Hey, yea, there are herpers here. We're not in Halifax anymore, but hope to be back someday. Definately check out the Nova Scotia Herps Society, they have monthly meetings in Halifax. There's also a new website trying to get off the ground - saltwaterreptiles.com - which is an online group of Atlantic Canadians. Check it out too!

Whatever you do, DO NOT DEAL WITH BURMIES! over a year ago he and his wife came to my home wanting to look at my collection of rare colubrids, they wanted to buy some from me, I really didnt want to sell the the snakes to them, but they seemed nice and I had done business with them in the past. The problem was they didnt have all the money for the snakes they wanted, so me being the nice and trusting guy that i am, took their word that they would pay me the following week. They owed me almost a $1,000 for the snakes they took. Weeks went by and they never showed up to pay me for the snakes they took home, when i tried to track them down, the wife game me some sad sob story that they are broken up and that her husband left, after a month of getting the run around it turned out that they had never broke up at all and it was all a farse. then in febuary I finally got a chance to speak with the husband and he gave me some story how he was goin to pay me, but he needed to buy a few of my cages off me but he wanted the cages on front and that he would pay me on a payment plan for the snakes and the cages. I wouldnt do the deal because the cages he wanted came to an additional 1200, this would have put them over 2 grand in dept with me. anyways, after I refused the deal, they disappeared and i havent heard from them since. I tried to talk them on msn but just got replied back that it wasnt them. and they have never ever responded to any my emails since. Its now been over a year since I let them take my snakes to their home and still have recieved no payment for those snakes. So if you have any animals for sale, do not do any business with them at all.
