Question freeweb question

a little off topic here but I know there are a ton of computer geeks on here so I figured some nerd must know this

If I have a free service web page like that freeweb one (i already have a provider but I have pretty much given up on my page because I don`t know jack about HTML and I am soo computer illiterate that I can`t even get my act together with front page - so I tried this free web one today and the tempates make it ssssssooooooo easy) could I point my domain name at that and it would still come up under my domain?

Thanx if anyone knows

(don`t worry if you answer I won`t really think you are a geek )

Hey ydnic,

Unfortunately I have yet to see a free web service that offers the ability of pointing to your domain. If you want some help with HTML, send me a PM. I can give you a hand.

If you have a registered domain, you can add it to your 'domains' list and put your site under it... on Freewebs anyway.

Is that what you mean? I don't...know...computers... but I know you can do that.

LOL that confuses me quite a bit, but what from what I can gather you want to redirect a domain name to your freewebs domain name?

You can go to a site called http://www.dot.tk. Make an account and this will allow you to call your domain name anything you want (if it's not already taken) and redirect it to your Freewebs site. This is especially useful when you are using a free web hosting such as Freewebs with a longer and more complicated domain name than what you want. DOtTK just makes it easier to remember for you or anyone else who visits your site. Haha hope this answered your question. If it doesn't I'm sure Shad0w will. He is Grand Master PC Geek. I kneel in his presence :hammer: .

I think that is what I mean Heather!

tHeGiNo:

I would like to thank you - but seriously - thats just not going to work - even if I had my very own online tech support - I`d still take a ridiculously long time just to sort what I have done so far out! I either need some one to sit right beside me, hold my hand and do it all for me while I watch (then come back and do updates every week for 27 years until I get it) or use a template!

Thanx tho!

yes thats what I want - I want to have my free account to have the name I have already registered. I have registered my domain through godaddy and I still want to use it - will it still work with godaddy because I have a control panel in there that asks me where to redirect it.

I haven't had any experiences with 'godaddy' but I'm sure you can use their domain name forwarding features. Here is a tutorial on how to do it with 'godaddy' if that helps any...
