BCI Enclosure

Well my lucky little girl Suzy is getting her new enclosure built at the same time as we redo the kitchen so I have excess materials that I can use for her enclosure .I plans are for it to be 6'by 2' by 3' which I feel is a appropriate size for her . Now as for materials go I was going to have the floor and three walls of the enclosure tiled with 8"x 8" itailian ceramic tiles , the real good stuff. Glass sliding doors and a melemine top.Now I only planned it this way as I have the access to all of which at this time . I am just concerned that the grout will be a real pain to clean all the time and in that case it think a simple melemine enclosure would be better , what do you guys think . Thanks .

That is huge, you don't need to go that big but if you have the space and materials it will be great for Suzy. I would love to see some pics when you are done. I think the grout will be fine if you seal it well. Are you planning on Belly heat? Tiles will be really cold so you may need some sort of additional warmth. I would also be worried about the weight and movability.

Just my thoughts, but good luck, it should look great.

If you use an epoxy grout you will never have to seal it and it's highly resistant to mold and staining. It also comes in a lot of different colors. One manufacturer of this is a company called Laticrete with the product name of SpectraLock.

I'm not sure of the toxicity of this when cured though.
