75 days later with very awesome news..

I take it you guys remember the post about the road hit cooter my lady friend obtained and the eggs we were able to get from her; Well two of the little beasts are hatching. Seems maybe 5 more will be hatching in a few days as well. I'll see about getting pics on here tonight or tomorrow, was just a tad over excited and had to post.
Thanks,
Zane

Zane, I remember your first post very well; the images are still quite vivid in my mind. Pat yourself on the back my friend, that's a great success story.
Cheers,
Ryan

The plan is to release them back near the same location the mother was struck, on private land. (Owner is allowing.) The reason for this is simply because all we want to do is jump start the animals, not completely change everything, like adding new animals in an unintended area.

Technically though, I don't have any say with what happens to the turtles since all I did was remove the eggs and temporarily house them. Dawn did most of the work so pretty much what she says goes.

If we release the animals, they will be thoroughly checked inside and out before being released since Dawn will keep them for 2-3 weeks to make sure all is well.
