Nolie- pet for a day:)

I brought home a green anole yesterday, to use for senting a mouse for my hognose. I kept him in my 10 gal with a uv light and basking lamp. After a few hours I started to get attached to his cute face, and amazing colors. Though I will have to return him today back to the pet store as my mom wouldn;t let me keep him, I'd just like to share some of the pics I took of him while he was in my care.
I know thier not very popular pets and are deffentaly no water moniter but he was a real joy to have even if it was only for a day.

Hope you enjoy.

nolie on his fav branch

nolie basking

and lastely nolie hanging upside down.

Cheers
Kayla

Anoles are a great little lizard. Very fun to have cage with a few. I have had anoles my entire time keeping herps until this last year. People don't like them because they are not worth anything but if you truly appreciate reptiles you like all species not just the ones you can make money off of. To bad you couldn't keep him. TB

Awesome little anole! I have one, she is awesome, just hangs out in a plant in her rubbermaid

She actually was caught in Houston, Texas from a friend, she is missing a front foot too. The people at the border saw her and never even had a care in the world.

Did your hoggie eat?

Have you tried scenting with tuna? There were a couple threads on it a month or so back. Apparently it works quite well. I think Mr. Stockwell knows more on the subject.

really tuna? wow I've never heard of that being suggested before thanks, I'll try that now. The only reason I'm a bit hesitant about using toads or frogs as many can secrete poison and I really don't feel like risking it.
Cheers
Kayla
