New Beardie rescue

I adopted this little guy from the reptile rescue at my local herp society (ERAS)

Gimpy (gallows humor I know) had a pretty rough start to life unfortunately, he had a pretty bad case of MBD when the young man who originally rescued him brought him to the society reptile rescue (He had sort of had Gimpy dumped on him by a teacher at school who knew he kept other dragons) but not before spending nearly a thousand dollars to bring him back from the brink of death. But, being still in high school he just couldn't afford the continued care and gave him up for adoption.

I first saw Gimpy in November I believe and thought he was a cute little guy but he was obviously a 'special needs' dragon because of the MBD. I adopted him this past weekend. The worst bit is his front legs are both pretty twisted up but he really doesn't let it bother him other than he's a little nervous about not having a firm grip when you pick him up. Thus far he's doing pretty well, eating his greens and bugs with gusto.

Have a look! (Sorry about the dirty glass, it didn't look that bad without the flash honest!)

he's awsome. im glad you rescued this little guy it's a sin when they have to go through things like that. thats why it is important to do your research before you go and buy a pet. good luck with your new buddy

Thanks I'm quite happy to have him and he's really full of personality that's for sure!

I'm glad I found the thread a while back about 'odd' positions beardies sometimes sleep in. As I type he's folded almost in half leaning up against the glass in his enclosure. It looks horribly uncomfortable so I might move him, but it's still funny to see.
