Ban them all!!!!!!!!!!!
My neighbor and his two dogs (1 is a nine week old puppy) were just vicously attacked by a stray cat. He was just out in his yard raking the leaves with his two dogs playing together. The cat attacked the older dog, mauled it's face and bit it several times. It then proceeded to turn on the puppy to do the same. My neighbor, trying to defend his dogs, got scratched and bit in the process as well.
They were unable to catch the cat and therefore can't get it tested to see if it has rabies. My neighbor has to go for 3 rounds of rabies shots, and if both his dogs start showing symptoms of rabies, they will both need to be put down.
Edit:
I'm deleting the rest of this post. Just wanted to share a story, throw in some sarcasm and maybe a little humor. Seems like it was taken out of context. Sorry for offending anyone.
I tried to delete the entire post, but for whatever reason I was not able to.
Invictus: It was not posted to "start this crap again" - sorry to possibly get that debate going again.

I think they were being sarcastic! But they made a point, everyone (not EVERYONE) is so bent on banning boas, pythons, pitt bulls, rotties, that they might as well keep going and ban them all heck lets just shut down and never leave home, then we don't have to worry about any horrible animals getting us. And yes I am being a smart mouth

very sarcastic.....the story is true, but the banning of cats???? yea right that would never happen. I'm not a cat lover, I just don't see why the courts can't make people more responsible for themselves and the animals they own.

I like to ban things. I would ban Hitler from this forum if he was a part of it, i swear! I would also ban pollution, ban illegal trappers, ban most of the industry and the humans would be at peace, starving all around but the earth would be fine and well doing... Would i ban cats... Hmm, good question...

I'm fairly certain that Tim was being sarcastic
That being said such things are already in the works in many places... in Edmonton and I think Calgary it's now illegal to let your cat roam the neighborhood, and perfectly legal for your neighbors to set cat traps and ship them off to the pound if they leave your yard. Hence why both our boys are exclusively indoor house lions.
Really in all of these animal attack problems I personally place the blame squarely on the owners of these animals.
http://www.canoe.ca/NewsStand/Edmont...17/717779.html
In Edmonton a man was recently mauled by his own Rottweiler, an animal he apparently conditioned to be aggresive. Who's fault was that attack? I'm sure you all know who'd i'd blame
I've worked with large abused dogs in the past, in fact and ex of mine used to take them in and rehab them.. one of the sweetest and most affectionate dogs i've ever had the privlidge of knowning was Freyja, a rottie cross that had been horribly abused by previous owners. It took many long months building up trust with that dog but now she is quite possibly the best behaved and gentle dog I know.

Thank you slannesh.
Yes I was being sarcastic. Hence the "lol" to end the initial post and the "wink" included in the title.
Do I think we should ban cats.....no.....maybe I've got a weird sense of humor, but thought it humorus that the first thoguht that came to my mind tonight when our neighbors came over was all the pit bull banning discussions and everyones first thought is to BAN.
Sorry, let's end this thread here. It was inteded to be sarcastic and hopefully a little funny - maybe I'm just over tired though. Sorry if I offended anyone.

I'd don't know about other parts of the country, but in my area they're talking about if cats are outside they're to be on leashes.

I won't like it if cats got banned, they should only be kept by responsible owners.
I don't know if the dogs were just sitting there, mine would be chasing the cat right now.
Actually the owner should keep the cat inside not out of his property, next thing you know your dogs and you are bitten by a skunk, are you going to ban them too, then a fox.....ect.
We won't have any animals in Manitoba Tim...
