Everyone Please Read..

I know we all use hydro to heat & light [yes for some of us they are too different things] our herps.
I don't know about any of you but my paycheck stays the same, yet my hydro bill keeps going up.. [I'll admit it's partly because I've got a house to heat instead of an apartment, and that is it getting colder but that's not the point]. Please go to this website and fill out the simple postcard. It's not spam.. just a petition about the costs of hydro.

http://www.publicpower.ca/

Thanks,
Just a concerned momma that may end up having to sell off some things and get a few jobs to afford hydro and keep my family [including herps] warm all winter.

Hmm.....

You should switch everything to heat tape. I have over 80 snakes and I only use 4 KW-hours per day. 1 KW-hour costs me 5 cents. So I pay 20 cents per day to heat ALL my snakes. That's like $70 a year. I don't understand why you use so much electricity.

Just curious Jeff, but how do you know that? Do you have some "instruments" hooked up to your racks? It is good to know that heat tape doesn't drain that much power.

Jeff this isn't just about heating herps.. it's about hydro costs as a whole.

Ya, I've heard that Heat Tape is not avaliable in Canada at all.

Energy costs...they are pridicting the cost of natural gas to be more than double what is was last winter.

That's what us Canuckians call hydro-electric power.
