mouse vs. rat, pinky vs. hopper??

Hi! Just wondering what the differences in nutritional value are between the varying ages of the prey items and also between rats and mice. I have noticed that some people prefer one over the other, but haven't yet heard why? (of course, besides the obvious size issue of 'whatever fits in the snake's mouth)

Thanks, still learning about my baby corn...

ps.. I'm feeding my 7 month old corn 2 pinkies a week, I'm worried it's not enough, though, since he's growing slowly, or should I be happy that he's not growing too fast?

2 pinky what a week? My babies were eating Fuzzy mice after 2 months. after 7 months I would say a couple of hopper mice once a week would be closer to right. But I remember with my first corns I was a little nervous about giving them bigger meals.

on the rats vs mice issue with corns I'ld stick with mice as they are cheaper.

I like rats because they come in bigger sizes and seem to have a better meat/bone ratio. Nutritionally (sp) they seem to be about the same.

There is another thread on this topic about a month back. It has a link to a nutrition chart.
