Some husbandry questions

First off, I noticed today that my BCI has a small dent on one of his eyecaps, I remember reading that this can be related to humidity, but the humidity in his enclosure is about 60%...I put some damp paper towels in his hide to see if it helps, but I have to say, I'm confused by this...60% humidity is the proper level for a common boa, right?
Another thing I have been wondering about is the conflicting info on temperatures for this species...some people say hotspot of 90-92 F with cool spot ~80F, but I've also read (VPI caresheet) that low to mid 80s with cool spot of 77-79F is the best...this is somewhat confusing...right now my temps are 89F hot spot and 76F cool spot...any insight on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

IMO they should have a temperature gradient of 80-90 and humidity around 60%. I wouldn't want to let your cool spot drop below 78.
In addition to low humidity, trauma can also be the cause of dented eyecaps (ie- banging into cage decorations, etc).

Hope this helped a bit
