Help want snake need some info
I am very much interested in getting a snake to bring into my house but i have some requirements and was hoping someone could help me out.
I have fallen in love with Rosy Boas but they are a bigger snake. My husband is not comfortable around snakes so i am looking for something smaller and very gentle in temperment but i also don't want to spend a fortune.
If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Don't want a Python though.
Please Help!

Corn or a king snake would be a good first snake

rosy boas actually do not get very big at all. they are a perfectly good first snake. they stay small, are easy to care for, and very docile. other than rosys, good first snakes include california kings or any other getula, the larger types of milksnake, corn snake, black or yellow rat snake. i know you said u werent interested in pythons, but in case u change your mind, i would recommend a spotted or children's python. they grow to be only 3 or four feet long and are very easy to care for.

you might also try Kenyan Sand Boas, they come in a few different colour morphs, are very docile! and stay small...extremely small LoL but i love my pair

If your into pythons too a Ball Python would be best to start with.

I'd recommend a ball python as well, they are a great size, but picky eaters...what have you got against pythons?

It's not against all pythons just the ball's. A friend of mine had a couple and they all forgot to eat. Don't want to deal with that as i already have a lizard that doesn't eat what he is given. A haven't seen many Kenya Sand Boas but i have herd many nice things about them.

Ahhh....well I'm just lucky and have a ball thats a ferocious eater In that case, I'd recommend a Kenyan too. I've got one and they're a blast!

I think each snake is different so maybe my friend just had a picky one but i will try a Kenyan for sure. Thanks everyone.
