Shipping?

I know this isnt the right forum for this but it is the only place where folks answer frequently. I have a gecko I want to get rid of and I think the only way to do that is to be able to ship it to folks. I want to know if there is anyway to ship it without using an airline? Could I do like over night shipping from a gound service like UPS or FED EX?

you can if they will take the package...I recently was roadblocked when shipping a tortoise because USPS woudlnt' take a tortoise, but I think they'lll take a lizard

UPS is good and all but expensive

USPS goes by weight and not by size or distance, so USPS Express might be the way to go, it's only like 16 bucks up to a pound and 3 dollars/LB after that

Dont tell them its an animal, tell them its something else, they wont check it. Im not sure if its the same with lizards but when i ship snakes, i put them in a pillow case like bag and tie it. Then, line the box with styrofoam and stuff it with newspaper. You can make a small hole with something like a screw driver but not too many to make it obvious that its an animal in the box. Finally, write fragile all over it and your ready to go(make sure you do overnight shipping and the recipient is home at the time of arrival). Don't forget to add heat packs if necessary.

Thanks, gringo.
