Frillies finally home !!! *7 pics*

An another dream come true...

We got this couple yesterday, they were reserved for more than a month, I had to build their cage.

The female is 2 years old ans the male about 18 months.
We'll try to have them ready to breed in 2005.

My GF with one of them.

Thanks,

no they aren't full grown yet, especially the male, he's 18 months old.

Here's the setup.

It's far from being final, I'll see where they like to go and fix some stuff after. I find they lack a lot of ground space. Shelves will work magic later on to fix that problem.

Awesome, what are the dimensions on the cage? And, are they both in the cage together?

Thanks guys...

for the cage, I'd say it's 44" wide, 36" high and 16"deep.

I don't know how quick they grow, I'm thinking maybe that the male will double in size and female will gain a bit more weight.

I did read up on them, but didn't really stopped at how big they get, size in not an issue. They will probably need a bigger cage in not too long.

Yes they are housed together.

my male is 26" total and my female is 22" total.
you should probubly have made them a more vertical enclosure. they prefer height over width and prefer to sit on a slope or a completely vertical surface. the enclosure i have all of mine (2 adults and 2 juvies) in is 260gallons and thats still too small for all of them when my juvies get bigger. the dimensions are 72" tall x 30" wide x 30" deep. they have a large branch that goes all the way up the enclosure and a corkbark piece that goes across the middle, plus the back is covered with fake vines with leaves that they can hide in and climb on (from the Dollarama, they're awesome!!!). i'm in the process of making a 'tree', kind of like the cat trees that are covered with carpet, and thats gonna be 70" tall, it's gonna be covered with corkbark and astroturf.
just to reiterate: width is good, but height is better... and if you have two frilleds i'd make sure you have at least a 4' tall x 4' long x 3' deep enclosure as adults for them to be comfortable.

hope that helps,
emily
