Tegus & Import Restrictions

Does anyone know if Tegus can be brought into Canada from the US across the border legally without any special permits? I searched the CITES species database and they do not seem to be listed. However, I'm thinking there may be other regulations or permits necessary.

Look again !
Tegus are Teiidae Tupinambis
They are all appendix two, same as most Boas, Pythons, Monitors Torts ,Crocs, Day Geckos and Poison Arrow frogs
They require CITES permits from the country of origin for any export.

Why don't you look for a Canadian breeder?

I don't believe anyone sells Albino Blue Tegus in Canada, but if you know any, feel free to point them out.

Strange, when you do a species search for Tupinambis Teguixin there's no results... but if you only do a search for Tupinambis you'll get a result for Tupinambis Teguixin. Must be a glitch in the database or something...

Hi hhw!
I think blue tegu are the product from merianae x rufescens or something like that. Maby they choose for several generation the "blueish" merianae and now they call them the "blue" tegu. If somebody know more about "blue" tegu, i'll be happy to know
