Roaches?

Does anyone feed their chameleons roaches? Are there any negative effects? Thanks

Aidan

I believe that roaches are THE best food item you can offer to any lizard. They are the most nutritious. Be sure they are appropriately sized of course... They can be a little hard to find, but if you have a supply, go for it!

There are certain kinds that are ranked as the best and most nutritious commercial food items you can get. They are best fed when in the stages of moslting (just after when they appear white) as sometime their shells can be difficult to digest. One species that comes to mind are the hissers like mentioned above, and Zebra roaches. Expensive.

Well... they aren't that expensive. You can buy like 10 or something, and they breed like crazy, so you'd have a good sized colony in no time at all...

You can get a colony of 50 at a reptile show for around 20$ if you look around.
