handling before shed

today i was handling my corn. she hasnt started to shed yet, but she should shed within a day or two. her eyes are cloudly and she looks like she has a thin coat of wax covering her. anyway, today when i was handling her, i noticed she was acting a little different. she usually is quite active, but she didnt move as much as usual. is this because she is getting ready to shed? or maybe she was just tired or something?

when snakes are in shed they act quite different, because they are blinded bye the old skink over there eyes, some turn very snappy and nervous, other go very calm almost lethargic, either way its because of the fact they can’t see what’s going on around them .

Its also suggested you dont handle them for this reason. It can get quite stressful for them.

Not sure what truth there is to it, but I have read several times that the skin before a shed is delicate, and to try and avoid handling them during this period.
