Rat Tubs

For those of you with rat racks. What size/brand of kitty litter pans do you use and how much can I expect to pay for them. Just called PetLand and they quoted me $14 for a Giant (22"x16"x6") Is that too much? Is there anything else besides kitty litter pans that would work. Contemplating sterilites. Does anyone have any experience using those? Thanks!

I use a bin that I found at Ikea, it measures 29x23x7 or so, they are only $10. So far, they seem to be working wonderfully.

dollarama, i kid you not.....
they were just as big as the kitty litter pans i had just bought for $6 each (which got returned).

I bought ten bins for $1 each, and they have worked perfect.... and haven't been chewed at all......

Also saw some great ones at walmart for $3 each, but they might not have the 10-15 that you might need....

We got ours from superpet (on sale for $6) but the plastic is very soft and seems to encourage chewing, we've had to armor the ends. I want to make my next bins out of tin.

I use the Giant litter pans from Zellers and if memory serves me correctly, I paid around $7 or $8 for them.

Jumbo cat litter pans form TSC $7.99 Brand (petmate) I have been using them for over two years with 25-1.4 colonies, I have not had even a little chew damage two any bin. I am now replacing my neodesha racks with these racks because they are by far the best i have used.
Construction of the rack itself plays a big role in saving your bins.
I planed and replaned this rack for almost a year before i built it and then still made changes during the construction.
