Google is not the answer to everything
Ok, when I make a post asking for information or some web sites or something, I am not wanting folks to say use Google or some smartass comment about it. Sorry I just assumed that this place was for information from people that know about this stuff. Sorry just thought I had to say something.

I think its most likely becuase the question has been answered numerous times. Once you've been here for awhile you'll know what I'm talking about. If you have a question try looking for it with the search tool in the proper forum and if you still can't find it post your question. I wouldn't take any of the smartass comments to heart....

Google can definitely be a pain in the ***, especially now that people have a better grasp of how to force useless sites to the top of the pile when searching for subjects.
On the other hand, you can use Google's advanced search to scan a specific site, like sSnakeSs, for the answer you want. Just in case the forums built in search doesn't generate the answer you need.
When I first got on here I didn't know what the 0.1.0 meant at first. I tried searching for questions, but never got the right results. So I started searching for "0.1.0" specifically. After a couple of posts I realized it probably referred to sexes of animals, with the third number being young or unsexed animals. Not long after I found a post that answered it.
Some people will expect you to be able to find the answer to some questions easily, because they know what to look for. It might not always be obvious when searching though. Learning how to search effectively is just as important as finding the answer
So, anyway, what was your question?

Some people will see you asking lots of general knowledge questions as being lazy. The perception is that if they are easy questions to find the answer to, then you should at least try to do the research yourself before asking here. When people ask a question I dont know the answer to but am interested in, I go look myself. It usually doesn't take more than 5 minutes to find out, and I'm no brighter than you.
I've been guilty of this myself sometimes as well. Often I'll find the answer just after asking the question too which means I wasn't patient enough.
I guarantee if you started a question with "I've looked on the net, but found conflicting information. Which is best...boxers or briefs?" or "I couldn't find the answer on the net...can you tell me what's the difference between constrictor constrictor and constrictor imperator?", nobody will give you a hard time, and you'll get a usefull answer.
Cheers

Thanks
I don't have exact ?'s right now. I have done a couple of post with different ?'s that go the Google answer. I usually post my ?'s on the forums because these people have been there and they know. Web sites give you general answers, I want answers from people that have expierenced it.

Weren't you asking for the general care requirements of *multiple* species in one question in a very vague manner? I saw your posts but didn't even know how to start to answer them, perhaps that is how others felt with such a broad question and felt that that it would be more helpful for you to use google as you could pick and choose from the sites that it supplied you with?

This is the place to ask questions about the information you find, not the place where we will do the work for you. Sorry if you didn't like my suggestion but your post was asking us to do your homework for you.
Cheers,
Trevor

Google might not be the answer for "everything" but its pretty damn close.
Using their advanced search like Cruciform mentioned, and also using the newsgroups search can give you LOADS of info about almost *anything*

instead of google, I would recommend searching here...sometimes a person doesn't want to know what joe blow on google thinks about something, they want to know what we here as a community think about something

In addition to the reasons everyone else has given for this type of response to questions, I have also noticed what I suspect to be people just wanting to reply (more posts?), but not knowing the answer.

Latazyo that's the whole point. The search function on this site is good, but you can use google itself to search THIS site and it has amazing power to find stuff.
Newsgroups that google searches are reptile newsgroups. If they are looking for first hand experience, its the exact same thing.
Don't knock things just because you don't know how to use them to their full advantage people!

Here's an example link:
<a href="http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=site%3Awww.ssnakess.com+%22jungle+carpet%22&bt nG=Search&meta=">site:www.ssnakess.com jungle carpet</a>
Which tells google to search ssnakess.com only, for the phrase "jungle carpet".
You won't get the newest posts, but being able to search with more than one tool is always handy.
