northern alligator lizard




Nothing spectacular or anything but I see these guys running around in the backyard all the time. Excuse the photo never posted one before. There is a clothespeg in my hand for size reference.

nice catch. where abouts in the lower mainland are you? i live in abbotsford and ive never found any of those here but theres tons of them at the chilliwack/vedder river. i love that place. to this day its my favourite area to find garters.

i live up on the sunshine coast
1 hour north of vancouver
everytime i go out in the back yard i see at least 2-3 garters.
If i do a little searching these lizards are always around to

Those are soo wicked!! I've only seen one once. It was so neat!! I wish I could get one!

i've heard they grow up to 10-12 inchs full grown,(mostly tail) these two were very small only about 4-5 inches.You can see the clothespeg in my hand for size reference

i used to keep a proven trio of them and they never shot over 6 inches.

i've seen them quite frequently larger then 6 inchs these 2 were much smaller then other ones i've seen.
here is a site for reference showing they grow to 25cm which is just under 10 inchs
