Talking Opal project is in the incubator!*lots of pics*

Here's step 1,

This is what I found when I came home at lunch,

Here she is laying number 12. The angle was bad but she is in the process of laying that egg under her tail.

The final count, 15 good eggs, no slug. Not bad for her first time producing. I'm expecting double that from my monster anery.

Next post, hatchlings! I hope, hee hee.
Thanks for looking,
Trevor

Actually they will look completly normal unless both parents are carying genes that I'm not aware of, wouldn't be the first time corns suprised me. The male lavender is het for anery so if she is het for snow I could get some aneries.
It's the F2 that will be nice, that's when I'll see Opals.
Cheers,
Trevor

Le's just hope she recovers quick. What's the longest you would wait before pairing her up again. Most people do it right away but I want to make sure I get as much food in her as possible. How big is my window before she sheds again?
Cheers,
Trevor

Trev,

The longest that I would wait is one month to be pairing her up again. I would start feeding her right after her post laying shed and see if she takes it in. Usually there is not much of a problem with that. But just to be sure I feed it a smaller prey item. Like a hopper or something like that. Once she takes that down I put her with two adult mice or 1 medium rat. Then if she didn't loose too much weight during the first egg laying then I pair the male back up again and try for second clutches~~

Oh usually after a week or two after she lays her eggs she'll start to Post laying shed. During this time you can also try to offer food to it, some people even offer food right after their lay, but I usually wait for a day or two before I do it. Just make sure that the prey item is small so that it doesn't stress the snake too much~~

Keep us updated!

Oh I too got a batch of eggs from some of my females on the 26th like you~~

I have 20 eggs from that female.

And then a hatch of hypo motleys are suppose to hatch out in less than 2 weeks from now~~
