Plant toxicity and frogs is not an issue. You have nothing to worry about with regards to plant toxicity and frogs. I use dieffenbaccha and philodendrons in a number of my tanks. The frogs will not eat the plants.. so don't worry about it.

Yes but some plants have external effects. The sap from Dieffenbachia is supposedly poisonous, causing the lips and mouth to swell others irritate the eyes, skin etc. It might be fine for species from South America but what about species that are not exposed to it in their natural habitat?
