Now That's Just Ghetto

Now I can respect a good thief, like the guys who steal expensive art or jewels, competent bank robbers that score millions then bugger off to South America. What I have no respect for is thieves who think small, people who just lack ambition.

There have been a several threads on this site regarding stolen animals, sometimes these have been valuable collections and sometimes it's been a $200 boa constrictor or funnier still an adult iguana which would take considerable effort to adopt out.

I have recently been the victim of this brand of sad thief of the lowest calibre. This is just my tedious way of complaining that some fuggin loser stole my blue box! lol! Who the hell steals a recycling bin and why? Is there a black market for them that I don't know about?

I propose a new section of the criminal code dealing with theft under $20. This should automatically be accompanied by a second new type of charge for aggravated criminal stupidity which would carry a penalty of either voluntary chemical castration or euthanization, perpetrator's choice.

Now what the hell am I supposed to do with all these pop cans?

OMG LOL!! Sorry for laughing man, but that is just sad. In my last apartment, some shmuck (or shmucks) kept steeling my garbage can! I'd put the garbage out on Monday night, see the can sitting on the curb when I left in the morning, but alas! It would have disappeared by the time I got home. It's a good thing they were at my landlord's expense. I lived there for about a year, and went through 8, yes 8 garbage cans. What the hell? I'll support your proposed punishment Mousekilla. The gene pool needs a good chlorinating!!

Dude we feel your pain over here at my house. We live on a well used route home for the High Schoolers and our blue box has been stolen twice, and broken many times.

I went to the school which said they could do nothing off school property, the cops claim they will come by more often but dont....so after a full winter of me watching between 2-3 pm last year (the time they walk by) and threatening an *** kicking to anyone who was doing anything, we haven't had problems since. They realized its hard to vandalize our house, or steal from us if they had broken fingers.

Seems people, kids, humans in general will steal anything that isn't nailed down.

Ok, ok... I'm remembering my teenage years... Goddammit I probably had this coming... a flood of cloudy, disorganized memories rushing back to me now...

Travelling back to a time when Hallowe'en no longer meant candy, too big and ugly for trick or treating, it came to mean eating a bunch of acid and roaming the neighborhood, breaking and stealing things gratuitously... I kicked innocent pumpkins, threw eggs, stole random toys and Hallowe'en decorations, peed on car doors.

I remember one year we went out and ended up spending most of the night taking shopping carts from the front of a plaza, riding them and crashing them into eachother until we got to the back of the plaza. From there we ran them over the guardrail seperating the parkinglot from a steep drop into the woods. The carts would tumble and clatter down the hill to a chorus of giddy, insane laughter that made your face hurt. This went on for hours, each cart funnier than the last. My teeth still gnash together remembering those cold, drug fuelled rampages.

Damn it, it's hard to be mad now that I have been reminded of my own history of pointless, petty crime. Guess it's all part of growing up but I still have nowhere to put my empty pop cans! lol!

I think we all did stuff like that growing up, but i can HONESTLY say that i have NEVER stolen a recycling bin.. That is just ridiculous.. I'm not sure why someone would steal that.. By the way, pumpkins left out after 10 on Halloween, are fair game.. And once the first egg leaves your hand, there's no turning back you have to empty the carton..

We have a pretty fancy Inn down the street from me and we used to go there nightly and rummage for things.. We always left with a few bottles of Vodka. And every Devil's Night a friend that worked in the kitchen would bring us a box of eggs.. A box consisted of 12 flats of 24..

Just toss the pop cans in a clear garbage bag, they'll get picked up.. Either that, or steal your neighbours bin.. LMAO

Kim: Have you ever thrown one against the ground??

You can't even buy eggs in Thunder Bay on gate night or halloween unless you have ID. How ridiculous is that?

It's not ridiculous. Anything worth getting is more fun getting "illegally" and that includes eggs. Personally I would like to think I enjoy that so my house wouldn't get egged, but I also like that rule because it means only the smarter kids get to do the damage. Not just some buffoon who could grab eggs at the local store and simply throw his arm and consider himself a "rebel" No nonono! That's no fun.

Too funny!! Thanks for the laugh....I guess most people (not me though!) have done something like that when they were kids.

My husband did the: stealing the christmas lights thing....wasn't too smart though:
He and his friends went to all his neighbours homes and stole every single christmas lights on the street....forgot to "steal" his own. Police came and wanted to know how his house had excaped the wrath of the christmas light bandit!

Around here, recycle bins AKA "blue boxes disappear quite fast. People are too lazy drive over and get them free at the Public Works, so they just take em...I;ve had to replace the boxes a few times....
