Bowel Movment frequency?
How often do Ball's usually have bowel movments? I think mine is going on about 3 weeks since I've seen urate or fecal matter anywhere in his cage. He is kept in between 50 - 60% hummidity at all times, given fresh water every other day, has a hot side of 90 - 95 and a cool side of 80-85. I was checking him over this morning and I was weighing him and makeing sure everything was ok, he has gained 100 grams since I last weighed him which is good but I noticed that at the back near his vent it seemed a little red. A very small hint of red from under his scales almost. I tried to take a pic.
Over the past 3 weeks he has had 1 pinky rat and 2 - 50 gram rats. The week before he was treated with nix diluted in 4 L of distiled water for mites. I also soaked him in the nix solution which I later found out was not a good idea in case he ingested some. I've not 100% sure if he did or did not ingest some of the nix solution but when I was soaking him I barely put enough in that it would cover his whole body. Should I do something like try and give him a soak in luke warm water or am I just being overly paranoid again?

Overly paranoid. My BP's when fed once a week will go about once every 4 weeks. So normally they go every 4 to 5 meals.
If your snake goes like two months and you see swelling by the vent then I would give him a soak but other then that don't worry about it. Keep the temps in the range you menthioned and you'll be fine.
Cheers,
Trevor

My BP only has a bowel movement once every few months (and I'm not complaining )

Alright I'm still learning exactly what is considered normal activity for my Ball so whenever I see something or think something may be wrong, I'm usually way off base.

Definitely paranoid. They go when they want. Always will. No such thing as 'normal' poop schedule. I have balls that crap 5 days after eating, and I have balls that crap after every second feeding. I'm willing to bet that you and I don't poop on the same schedule, neither will they.

I was the same way, I would worry! LOL. I was so used to my dang colubrids when I got my first BP that it was sooo nerve wracking wondering if things were o.k.
Two years later, things are fine and my oldest ball (two years old) only goes to the bathroom every 5-8 feedings.

i agree, and also, i wouldn't worry about the nix. i'm pretty sure it's non-toxic (hence it's popularity in treating snakes with mites), but i could be wrong on that.
