Gila Monsters/Beaded Lizards

Does anyone here keep heloderms? I was just curious. It seems there are quite a few venomous snake keepers but no venomous lizard keepers.

**Disclaimer** I'm not interested in keeping these guys.

Yeah, I've kept them...thousand dollar bumps on logs...
They hide all day, and you have to dig them up to see your investment...
You toss food in and under cover of darkness it magically disappears without a trace sort of like the money I sent to Nortel, only better
as I was able to sell them.

Ok , Ok, they were kinda cute, all 3 times
I got to see them! The day I bought them, the day I sold them, and that night my wife tripped over them in the hall

Oh boy, Roy.... you're priceless. LOL
Your enthusiasm for them makes me want to run right out and get myself some too.

I hope your wife was okay after her face to face meeting with them.

I dunno, a friend of mine has several gilas and they are always active every time I'm over there. Certainly too expensive for my blood though, but interesting anyway.

HaHa love the Halloween pic. I'm not sure If I'd pay $1000 for an animal either. I think I'd max out around $300 atm.

I haven't yet, the cost has been prohibitive. Now with Arizona opening up collecting permits at a fairly reasonable price I have begun considering it. The ones I have come across have all been reclusive, but some enclosure set-ups with careful placement of owner made tunnels and hides has reduced my concern for that as well. Not yet but possibly.

I was hoping to see a Gila Monster this summer. I hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon.

I have family in New Mexico btw. :w
