The boa's new home
Well here is my answer to insomnia. Not quite done yet, still a little work to do, but the boa is soon to be moving in. Should be done by the weekend. It is 72" L x 18" H x 24" D ,the shelf is 12" W x 72" L, sliding plexi doors, metal tracks, and steel legs. It will have both upper and lower heating. I still have to install the lower heating, thermometers, rheostats and vents. I will post more pics when the boa is moved in.
For the time being, here's the work in progress...
Cheers,
Jim

Thanks People,
Hell no Brian, still have plenty of room for more snakes, rats and.... bylaw officers..
Laura, does that mean I have to get you another bottle of JD?
Gaboon, the legs are steel with a wide mount plate at the top that is firmly mounted. If I have to move it any major distance, (which isn't likely, as this will be its final location in the house), I can simply remove the legs.. I have NO worries about the weight, add an extra two feet to the length and it would be a different issue.

Thanks Trevor and Shannon, I am pretty happy with the way it came out. The basking light and day light are setup up on timers so that the basking light will only come on during the overnight nights. The temps are monitored at 6 points in the tank; (upper and lower levels) (cold, mid and hot), as well, a fogger has been installed for a short burst of moisture each day for 5 minutes. The "houses" are simply stair tread rubber that has been cut and trimmed to fit and then screwed to shelf. All cage furniture has been mounted for quick release and the large floor section just has to be lined with newpaper. So far, everything is working very well. I just have to pick up a display cabinet lock and a heat light and then everything should be good to go.

Simply amazing. I really wish I had carpentry skills like that because it would lead to alot more snakes then I have. Possibly the best custom setup Ive ever seen. And its even functional as a small table at the same time. Genious !!
