how to ship rats @ mice

I'd like to know all the ins and outs about shipping feeder rats @ mice. I haven't relly considerd it before.

depends how far you are shipping them and the shipping facilities. when i get mine the first day they get as far as calgary and they spend the night in air canadas freezer and they get to me on day 2. they were packed like snakes in a cardboard/styro shipping box. for long trips i'm guessing you could throw in some dryice

We have had very good luck having them sent to us by Greyhound bus - much cheaper than flying them because a big order is pretty heavy. Works well for any place that they will reach within 2-3 days during winter months. Packed in styrofoam container within a cardboard box, well taped so it doesn't split. They act as their own freezer pack if the container is not opened.

It Depends on how far they have to go. I usually just throw them a one way ticket to cement floorsville.

Get some dry ice, use nextday shipping. avoid purolator.
use a styrofoam box that fits snugly in a cardboard box.
