I've never heard anything about black dots, my male doesn't have any markings under his chin. Males are vocal and will call out, while females will not. There is also a significant size difference between them. How old is your little guy? How long have you had him/her?

I don't know anything about Packman Frogs but most sexually mature male frogs develop Nuptial Pads during there breeding season. I do know these frogs grow to a fair size so if he's mature they should be obvious (you should be able to spot them without handling). I've come across throat markings as a form of id'ing male frogs before but have'nt found this to be greatly accurate with the species i've keep, but like I said I have had NO EXPERIENCE WITH PACKMAN FROGS. Calling males get a nice little pouch happening too and as stated above they're smaller but all this info is no help if you don't have a female to compare it to, hey? Could be he is a she. Hmmmm, is there such a thing as hermaphridite frogs?

linds ---> my little one (who we just named Rolly last night) is only about 1.5-2 inches long. i just don't know if they are like my leopard gecko's and are unsexable (for most ppl) until a few months of age. anyway, if it is a male, it's probably just too young to croak still, but i don't know for sure.

foman ---> thanks for the care sheet, i'm sure it will come in handy. lol, so i take it there isn't much really known about these guys on this site huh?
