I like it, looks very nice.
You can have the male and female separated and put in the pvc for a short period in the breeding season without taking one of the animals away from it's familiar environment and it's safeplaces.
I had some thought about something similar but I never thought of your solution. Your sollution looks much nicer than the one I had in my mind. I have never built something like that but I'd like to try sometime.
I found another use for PVC pipes aswell..
I found a section of a 18 inch wide PVC tube on a construction site. A very dirty and scrathed up one..
I went to the ardware store and bought 4mm birch plywood (don't know if it's the right word in english ?).
I then wet the plywood and forced it into the PVC tube. A couple of days after I took it out of the tube and it kept the round shape to a certain degree.
I then cut out a bottom and a top in 15mm normal plywood.
The result was a cylindrical arboreal terarium made out of 3 pieces of wood. Finally I cut out a hole for the glass doors and some vent holes.
The terarium looked pretty nice and is very easy to make.
If planned right it can be made to hang down from the cealing.
shame I gave away the terarium, don't even have any pics of it..
If you're able to get a pice of 18 inch PVC pipe that is in good condition I guess you could make a terarium directly out of it, it would make a very tough and easy to clean terarium that looks well and is original.
Indeed terariums can be made out of everything..
Once I almost made a terarium out of a pissoir (the long type).
If you think obout is it's really a good base for a small spp herp. It's stainless, easy to clean, it's got a hole in the bottom for drainage and a hole in the top that is siutable for making a waterfall, just put on a glass front and you're ready to go..
Anyway.. I tossed off the idea as I thought it to be a bit over the edge and never built it...
Instead I made a large hole in the wall I built to separete my livingroom from my herp room and made a terarium in the wall. This way I can see through the terarium and into the next room.
