AFTs

I currently keep leopard geckos but now am thinking of getting a few African Fat Tailed geckos. With some research, it is clear that the two species are similar in many aspects but I would love to hear opinions on the differences in tank setup.

I know the humidity is supposed to be higher with AFTs. Does that simply mean more misting???

Anyways, any advice wrt AFTs and their set up would be great. Also anything else I should know before purchasing a group.

Thankso>

Fat Tails are a great species to work with. I've never come across a more docile gecko than a Fat Tail, though some Leos could offer competition there.

As long as you provide access to a moist hide box all the time, care can be exactly the same as with Leos and they will do just fine.

Best wishes,

JonK

The animal I pictured in my above post is not an albino/amelenistic speciimen, just a pretty juvenile. I am working with Fat Tail's (including the Amelenistic line) but will have nothing available this year.
Check with High Quality Reptiles if you're looking for some AFT's.

Best wishes,
