OK, I sold a baby boa to a friend of a friend 7 months ago. When selling it to him I questioned him on boa care and he seemed to know what he was doing. It passed away a couple days ago. He said it regurged 3 weeks ago and had been sluggish ever since. Everytime I saw the guy I asked, hows your boa? He always said it was doing great. Apparently he had no idea what he was doing or just didn't give a sh*t. It wasn't doing great. The boa hadn't gained any weight over the last seven months due to the fact he barely ever fed it and he kept the ambient temp at 75F. I always asked about his temps and he said he had it under control. He lied to me about his temps and admitted it to me after the boa died. He said he couldn't get his rack any warmer and the boa seemed fine??? I'm sure breeders run into this all the time. This really bothers me. I will have a hard time trusting people now. She was a great looking boa and deserved better. I feel partly responsible for her death but I did all I could do short of driving to the guys house and checking on her myself. She was a beauty.
