Iguana or Jacksons' Cham. ??

I was just wondering if I should get another Iguana or a Cham. I had a 4 foot iguana before, but when my daughter was born, we got rid of him, for health reasons. So now I don't know if I wanna try something new or stick to the old. what would you do???

I'd go for the Jackson's. Small size/smaller enclosure, love the horns on the males, life span is MUCH shorter than an Iguana, less food intake, less poo output. Both are awesome lizards with unique merits. The choice is yours. Good luck.

Much as I adore iguanas, I'd second enso's advice. It's really tough to be an ig slave with a child in the house and a Jackson's can bring you lots of joy.

I personally am getting an iguana in a few months... after I've done all of my research and everything. Chams were just too hard for me. I failed at keeping veileds and I (nor most people here on ssnakess.com) knew what I was even doing wrong. So I think I would personally rather have a more reliable pet. But if you can handle it, go with the jackson's... nothing beats a cham.

J-Man if you are getting an iguana, please check in on the adoptions lists. There are so many ouyt there that need a caring home, and its just sad that the boardwalks, and petshops squeeze them into small cages and such by the hundreds to sell them for 9.99..........

Here is a description of a summer down the AC shore:

Walkin down the beach, u see a little green lizard, totally not native to Southern New jersey. Its a baby iguana some one payed 9.99 for and then let it go because they didnt like it........This summer, I'd say 15, all dead.

Please don't PURCHASE one, adopt it and make one happy.

Lu

I'll definitely be adopting. I can't see any reason not to. Don't worry By the way, looks like it might be much sooner than I thought.
