Hapalopus triseriatus

Here is a picture of one of the rarest animal in my collection.

My specimen is still very small (about 1/2"), so you will have to bare with me for the not so good pics. This is the best I can do, but when it will be bigger, I will take some more.

The good news is that I am pretty sure it is a female... great!

You can already see the nice little dots on the abdomen...

Of course, for those who care about this magnificient dwarf species, you can see an excellent picture of H. triseriatus on Rick West's site.

Enjoy.

Martin

Neato. They're slow growers? How long would it take to get to full size?

They actually seem to be growing pretty fast. Mine eats like a little pig.

I expect probably 2 years max for full grown. We'll see.

OK, the bugger grew three times (or was it four) since the pics...

This is the jewel of my little zoo...

Starting to show it's realy colors... really stunning...

This animal is so voracious... it grows like weed...

Still not 100% sure if it is a female... if it is not, my heart will be forever broken!LOL

Enjoy

Well, for the moment, the only hope would be that this species is parthenogenic!LOL I only have one, but believe me, I am doing my best to find some other...

What is the hair like on that species? It must be super-short? it almost looks like a baldie.

With a name like Jewel, it's sure to grow up a girl, yep, think positive...
Thanks for sharing her!

Hair is pretty short for the moment and it seems to remain the same as far as the pictures I have seen of adult specimens...

I never name my animals! Jewel is not it's name, it is just what I think it is!

Glad you liked it...

Uh-uh, no way, too late there, buddy!
You posted that it is Jewel on a public forum...
so it is thereby named!

Who all here thinks it should be called Jewel?
*big show of hands*
Yessiree, ssnakess.com has voted...

Just kidding with you Martin. But why do you never name your animals?? I know you have a lot of them, but don't the long-termers earn a name? When you give them a name, you also give them a place in your affections...

Yep! I agree with Dragoon! Tarcan you've got your first named T. Actually, I don't name my T's too, never have, but most of my other herps get named.

Like you said, I have too many...

And it is a lot harder to remember all kind of given names then one species name... all I need to remember is one name per species and I visually remember them individually...

It does not affect the amount of affection I have for them... they are as important to me as if they would have a name...LOL
