Is it just me?
Being in highschool, you see the different age levels via the different grades. One thing I have noticed is that people are getting shorter and shorter each year, has anyone else seen this or is it just me? I mean I look at last years grade 11's and they are so much bigger then us, and the grade nines, wow some of them look like they are no older then 12.

I know what you mean! I'm in grade 6 right now and the grade sevens at my sister's highschool look like they just came out of grade three!! They are like half my size! It's really insane! The kids in my grade 6 class are all over 5 feet tall except for 3 and the grade 5ers average at 4'3!!! FOUR FOOT THREE! Do you know how tiny that is?! It makes me feel so old

This is an illusion that is part hormones and part perception. The younger kids look smaller cuz you grew and so did everyone your age. The other thing is that kids in that 12-18 age group are all over the map in terms of growth. Boys especially tend to grow suddenly gaining 6 inches of height in a summer. It's just puberty.

No, but I mean all the last years grade 11's look a lot older and a lot more mature, in the physical aspects of things, and the majority was much taller then I am. Having a brother one year older and a sister one year younger shows this clearly as well, being that I see each of their friends. I don't know, I was beggining to think they just LOOK older, when in reality to someone else I look the same as last years grade elevens, as far as physical maturity.

Yeah I've noticed that. Everytime I drive past the high schools or see kids getting off busses they look like they are in elementary school...
