basking branch: take 2
ok, some time ago i posted a pic of my homebuilt basking branch. I connected the loose branches with rope, which looked pretty cool, but the beardies would probably got their feet stuck between it. SSSoooooooo................now i picked up some tape (i heard that its called electrical tape) and put that over the rope. So now its solid from the rope, but you dont have the space between the rope.
I got the heatlamps on it right now, full power. Too see if the glue of the tape wont let go. If that happens, then its time for take 3 .
Anyways, here are some pics

Let me know what you think

Hi Daan,
Sorry but, cant wait till take 3.
You might want to try a hot glue gun or just some simple screws to affix the branches.
Excellent Cage BTW.

I second what Brian says...tape in a herp cage is trouble. I have seen too many posts from people asking how to get tape off of their snake/lizard.
Hot Glue all the way.

I would be wary of the tape. I would try the hot glue or screws idea. but other than that the cage looks great...

I can't see the adhesive holding on either... maybe silicone the gaps between the rope so they can't get any claws stuck?
Love that cave painting Daan!

OK, thanks for the input
Never heard of snakes/lizards getting caught in tape. But on the other hand, i never heard of anyone using tape in the enclosure
I allready got screws in their and that was one reason why i put rope around it. Some of the screws were sticking out on the other end. Plus it got alot stronger then only with screws. I think im gonna try to use the silicone to fill the gaps.
Reptile Boi: The cage itself is made from plain ol' wood. The background is made from foam plates which are carved in shape with a knife. When that is finished you put several layers of tyle adhesive on it. Thats about it.
Well thanks again and i will let you all know how it worked out
