How do I get my savannah monitor to eat his pinkie?

Your monitor's behavior is telling you something. Its your job to figure out what is up, not 'get' the monitor to do anything. They all like rodents, that is not the problem, the problem is figuring out what is amiss with your guy.

How old is yours? I had a tiny baby rudi that would not eat them for the first month or so, only crickets. So maybe age plays a part? I don't know for sure, because this is only one instance.

Other than that, most times, any refusal to eat food is related to husbandry issues. Security, hydration, adequate range of temps (not just heat, but cool too.) etc.
Is he eating anything at all? If he will eat supplemented crix, he will not starve. If your husbandry is good, you will soon wish he would refuse a meal once in a while.

yea, as dragoon said temps play a very large role...my tegu would not eat for about a week right when i got him and than i checked the temps ffor a second time and it was off about 10 degrees so i fixed it and the next day he ate, so that could be your problem..another tihng i can think of is maybe the pinki is to large for the monitor? anyways good luck and keep us posted

I tried a pinkie once and didn't like it, and your exanthematicus is telling you the same thing....try different foods, not what is convenient, and make sure your temps are good, clean water available and your lizards knows where it is, and appropriate hide spots, sun spots, and so on...if your cage is all glass, cover it up except for a small window to peer through, and this will reduce stress it may be experiencing now, i.e. not eating.
