Thumbs down More not so good pics.

Hi everyone. I was handling Jega this afternoon and she decided to snooze on my lap so I snapped a couple of shots while she was still. She is still in shed and really dark. My cam is terrible and I was having to be real still so sorry if they are terrible. Oh and any advice I can get on photo shop would be great!!! lol

Enjoy if you can!!

LOL.

Yeah Eight sometimes sits still for a long time when she it out but I always believe its the obvious 98 degree heating pad I naturally offer. LOL. I also read by Linds in one of her posts, I think, that the whole being very still is a defence mechanisim. *shrug* Cute pics though.

That's adorable! My BCI will curl right up on my lap and sit there for hours, I'm sure it's because he loves the heat source of my body temp. It's still cute when they do that nonetheless.

If she wasn't sleeping she was at least relaxed. I payed very close attention to breathing and she was not huffing. She was breathing but not fast. Pretty much like normal. When she gets defensive she gets defensive and balls up on me. I would have to agree with RedDragon. Her body language didn't display defense.

Laying very still IS a defense. They don't always ball up and huff. Laying without moving is classic for many animals as a defense. I am not saying your Ball Python wasn't relaxed, I am just saying just because a Ball Python doesn't ball up or huff doesn't mean its not defensive.

Hey you learn something every day. Thanks Marisa. Should I put her back in her viv when she does this?

No no its not that. I was just agreeing with Favelle there about you can't assume a feeling is coming from a snake when sometimes its just defence. I am sure your snake WAS just chillin out. But sometimes it can be taken wrong.

Handle away!
