Bye Zippy!

It is sad but we are actually relieved that my roomates VERY old anole Zippy finally passed away today. He was 8 and a half years old! Possibly older. Only had him for 8 and a half years.

When they got him a guy was about to put him into a burmese python tank to see if it would eat him. My roomates never gave him UV (grr) but if they had I think he may have lived even longer.

Anyways it is sad, but during the last month his quality of life really went down and he lost much body weight. Here is a photo of him I took sometime within the last year when he was still looking pretty o.k.

Goodbye Zippy!!

Awwwwww! I'm gonna cry! He was such a cute anole, and a very long-lived one at that! I believe their average life-expectancy is something like 5 yrs. You guys must have been doing something right! (even if he didn't get the UV).

That's interesting, my green anole lived 7 years and I didn't provide a UVB for it either. I guess they are tough little guys! Sorry about your roommate's anole
